Rebecca is as real as anyone can be-down-to-earth, funny, intelligent, articulate and caring as well. I will be crossing my fingers on January 24 in hopes of Rebecca winning the Miss America crown. She is an awesome and amazing ambassador of our state! Joy,

I have attended the Miss Texas Pageant for the past 20 years, was a local Pageant director throughout the 1990's, served as the President of the Miss Texas Local Franchise Holder Association, and was the script writer for the Miss Texas telecast for several years. I was never happier leaving Fort Worth on the Sunday following the Miss Texas Pageant than I was on July 6, 2008 because of Rebecca's win. She also held the title of Miss Teen Texas 2000. I have known Rebecca since she was 14 years old and is one of the most down-to-earth young women I have ever known. I know she has been an excellent Miss Texas and I expect her to do very well in Las Vegas (my current home town) later this month. I am also very supportive of Heather Bruce and her continued involvement with the Miss America program. I make a small donation each year to the Miss Southlake Scholarship Program because I appreciate what Heather and her Miss Southlake Team does.
