Jazzy Birthday Soiree to Aid Foundation

Noted saxophonist David Carr Jr. will combine his birthday celebration with a fundraiser to benefit a national children’s charity.

Wine and Jazz Birthday Soiree is set for 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 1 at Times Ten Cellars Winery (www.timestencellar.com)  in Dallas. In celebration of the musicians 49th birthday, the event will aid the Mark Klaas Foundation (KlaasKids.org)  to fight against human sex trafficking of children.

The charity event will include dancing, wine, hors d’oeuvres and dessert, plus live and silent auctions. Attendees will receive a complimentary David Carr Jr. CD.

The musician has been performing since he was 12 years old, and his music encompasses contemporary jazz, R&B and funk. His birthday celebration has become a tradition in the Dallas area, and he has transformed the party into a charitable event.
