Former Dallas Cowboy Drew Pearson served as the surprise emcee at a recent golf tournament's awards banquet.

SBB Management Company hosted the SBB 1st Annual Golf Classic last month at Lantana Golf Club to benefit Children’s Cancer Fund (CCF).

The tournament raised more than $38,000 for the charity dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research, treatment, education and patient care treatment at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Medical Center at Dallas.

Tournament play began after a box lunch, then a Mexican dinner was served by the Lantana Golf Club immediately after the golf tournament, with surprise emcee, former Dallas Cowboy Drew Pearson, presenting the awards. Pearson also auctioned off an autographed football and a number of autographed photos of his famous “Hail Mary Reception” from Roger Staubach in a Dallas Cowboy playoff victory over the Minnesota Vikings in 1975.

Tournament host Fred Shapiro, owner and CEO of SBB Management Company and his wife, Dr. Karen Bradshaw, hosted a sponsor party at their home the Sunday before the tournament.
