Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant CountyÂ honored Valleau Wilkie, Jr., executive vice president of the Sid W. Richardson Foundation and XTO Energy, with the Spirit of Giving Award atÂ its annual donor appreciation event Nov. 5Â Annual Donor Appreciation EventÂ at Villa de Leon, Fort Worth.
Wilkie was named the first-ever recipient ofÂ Spirit of Giving Lifetime Achievement Award, given in recognition of individual philanthropic leadership thatÂ has provided aÂ positive impactÂ on the community.Â Â The honoree has been involved with Meals on WheelsÂ forÂ more than 30 years.Â Â
Additionally, XTO Energy was selected to receive the 5th Annual Spirit of Giving Award for its commitment to the Meals On Wheels Golf ClassicÂ as the title sponsor theÂ past five years.Â Tim Petrus, executive vice president of Acquisitions, accepted the award on behalf of XTO Energy.
Previous recipients of the Spirit of Giving Award include theÂ U.S. Rep.Â Kay Granger, Pier 1, The City of Fort Worth,Â Tarrant CountyÂ Judge Glen Whitley andÂ the Tarrant County Commissioners.Â
