Sad as it may be, this is exactly why they often times do require larger passengers to purchase two seats. Why should you have been inconvenienced, as well as I'm sure the person sitting next to his wife? Years ago I worked in the airline industry and when a flight was near capacity I had to ask a passenger to pay for two seats that he was occupying because there was not a seat for another fare paying passenger, who was going to be denied boarding. It was awful to have to do that, I was embarrassed as well as he. Sure hope your back feels better soon. I know a great acupunturist, pain management Dr. if you would like his number.
