Laura M. Spain and Bryan A. Howard were united in marriage on January 30, 2010 at half after six o’clock in the evening at Meadowbrook United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. The Reverend Kyland Dobbins officiated.Â Andrew Spain, eight-year-old nephew of the bride, served as candle lighter and scripture reader.Â
The first wedding reception ever held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington followed the ceremony. Guests celebrated the new couple amidst an elegant silver and black motif while dancing to the music of Sounds Spectacular with DJ Robert Williams.Â The wedding cakes were created by Legends Catering and cake toppers from the couple’s parents and grandparents ringed the display.Â The wedding party entered the festivities to the theme from Monday Night Football. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Cacharel in Arlington. The wedding weekend was beautifully captured on film by 1000 Words Photography and on video by Wylie Video Productions.Â
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan L. Spain of Arlington. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Vickie Johnson and the late Mr. Clifford Johnson and the late Mr. and Mrs. E. T.Â Spain.Â The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Howard of Plano and Mr. and Mrs. Randall Walger of Scotland. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lorene “Sugar” Howard and the late Mr. Herman Howard and the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Cheek.Â
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore her mother’s forty-two year old wedding gown restyled by Rita McFadin of Arlington. The A-line sleeveless creation of silk faille featured pearls and crystal beaded re-embroidered Alencon lace appliquÃ©s down the front. Hand corded scalloped lace edged the hemline of the skirt and chapel length train. Her cathedral length veil sparkled with discreet rhinestones and crystals complementing her contemporary crystal bouquet from Stardust in Plano.Â
Serving as matron-of-honor was the bride’s cousin Kristin Potts of Grapevine. Bridesmaids were Molly Pitchford, cousin of the bride, of Austin, Amy Saflekos, cousin of the bride, of Austin, Rachel Spain, sister-in-law of the bride, of Arlington, Emily Stroud, friend of the bride, of Fort Worth, Tammy Taylor, cousin of the bride, of Arlington and Courtney Wilkinson, friend of the bride, of Dallas. The bride’s nieces Madeline Spain and Allison Spain of Arlington were flower girls.Â
The groom chose friend Robert Dupont of Plano as his best man.Â Groomsmen were Jeff Clark, friend of the groom, of McKinney, Jeff Lathan, friend of the groom, of Round Rock, Christian Lehinger, friend of the groom, of McKinney, Jason McCall, friend of the groom, Scott Spain, of Arlington, brother of the bride and Tim Winger, friend of the groom, of Dallas.Â The bride’s nephew Dylan Spain of Arlington was ring bearer.
Laura earned a Bachelors of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University. She was a cheerleader and member of Kappa Alpha Theta.Â Laura is a partner in Hygeia Paragon Holdings, Inc. in McKinney.Â Bryan earned a Bachelors of Environmental Design from Texas A & M University and is a Project Manager for C. B. Richard Ellis in Dallas.Â
The couple honeymooned on a Caribbean cruise and resides in McKinney.
