After weeks of watching basketball teams battle it out during March Madness, Hoops & Hops pub crawl will offer fans a chance to combine beer with basketball.
The event, hosted by Camp Bowie District and Rahr & Sons Brewing Co., is set for April 2 to see who will be crowned the 2012 NCAA Champion. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at Oscar’s Pub, then will move to Jake’s Burgers just in time for tip-off, and will wrap up at Baker Street Pub and Grill during the second half to see who will reign as champion.Â
Each of the crawl’s three stops will feature a different specially-paired Rahr beer and food item. For $6, participants will receive their first cold Rahr beer and a collectible Rahr pint glass, which will serve as their ticket for the night. Anyone with a glass also will receive $3 beer refills at any of the stops and can enjoy discounted menu pairings.Â
Patrons also will benefit Fort Worth since some proceeds will benefit the Camp Bowie District’s beautification efforts.Â
The Camp Bowie District, home to more than 800 businesses, encompasses a nine-mile stretch from University to Highway 820. The non-profit organization is dedicated to beautification projects, economic development and special events. Â
