Rosie Moncrief, former first lady of Fort Worth, will act as honorary co-chair for the second annual Dinner Party for Life.

FORT WORTH _ Prominent chefs will present an eight-course tasting menu, complete with wine pairings, at the second annual Dinner Party for Life event, set for 5 to 8 p.m. June 24 at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St.

Cuisine for Healing (http://www.cuisneforhealing.org) and Texas Toast Culinary Tours (http://www.texastoastculinarytourx.com) are partnering for the event. The seated affair will benefit Cuisine for Healing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making nutritious, delicious food readily available to cancer patients and others combating disease.

At the fundraiser, each dish will be prepared by one of eight top local chefs. Chefs participating in the charity event will be Jon Bonnell, Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine; Gwin Grimes, Artisan Baking Company; Mary Kha Ho and Jarry Ho, Tokyo Café and Shinjuku Station; Sarah Hooton, Central Market; Jerrett Joslin, The Wild Mushroom; Lanny Lancarte II, Lanny’s Alta Cocina Mexican; Molly McCook, Ellerbe Fine Foods; and Brian Olenjack, Olenjack’s Grille.

“Until last summer, Fort Worth had not experienced a dining event quite like this one, and this year’s Dinner Party for Life promises to be even more impressive,” said June Naylor, food journalist and Texas Toast Culinary Tours partner. “Each special plate will reflect the creativity of its chef, and the bonus is that each course will meet Cuisine for Healing’s healthy certification guidelines.”

Fort Worth’s former first lady, Rosie Moncrief, will return this year to serve as honorary chairperson. Live musical entertainment and the opportunity to visit with the chefs will be among the evening’s festivities.

The limited number of tickets for Dinner Party for Life will cost $125 each. Online registration will be available soon. For more details please visit www.texastoastculinarytours.com or www.cuisineforhealing.org.

Cuisine for Healing was founded in 2006 by Wendy Wilkie as she battled cancer. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to making nutritious, delicious food readily available to people combating disease, while providing education about the power of healthy food.  Naylor and Cynthia Wahl lead Texas Toast Culinary Tours, offering food and wine adventures in the Lone Star State.
