FORT WORTH _ Names of local cancer survivors who will model spring fashions during the Fourth Annual Survivors in Style, a charity event set for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cendera Center, 3600 Benbrook Highway.
The fashion show will benefit Cuisine for Healing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making nutritious, delicious food readily available to cancer patients and others combating disease and will spotlight local men and women who have survived cancer. Models this year include Glenda Brooks, Sylvania Crawford, Kristi Evans, Nancy L.B. Michlin, Debbie Millhollon, Kerbi Nobles, Don Oxman, Joan Stokes, Melodye Tune, Guynell Whetstone, Sylvia Wilkie and Stephanie Woodard.
Models will highlight spring styles from MPulsive Fashion Styling and Whatchamacallit in Fort Worth. Makeovers for each of the models, including hair styling and makeup, will be provided by Goldwaves Salon.
Cancer survivor and Texas Poet Laureate Karla K. Morton, author of the award-winning Redefining Beauty, will return this year to be the keynote speaker. Sherree Bennett, director of the Joan Katz Breast Center, will serve as honorary chair, and Darla Robinson will be the master of ceremonies.
The evening will feature an assortment of appetizers, desserts and wine. Tickets cost $50 each, with reserved tables available for $450.
