Couple Weds in New Year’s Eve Ceremony

Allison Ann Beall and Mark William Chandler were united in marriage Dec. 31, 2009 at half past seven o’clock in the evening at First United Methodist Church of Hurst.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beall of Colleyville.  She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fallis Beall and Mr. and Mrs. John E. (Buddy) Campbell and the great- granddaughter of Mrs. Richard Stokes, all of Duncan, Oklahoma.  The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gary Chandler of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Sue Chandler of Broken Arrow and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Olson of Oklahoma City.

Dr. Michael McKee officiated and Claire Bonney Campbell, cousin of the bride, read scripture.  Music was provided by organist Dong-ill Shin and soloist Gregory Kuenning, uncle of the groom.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory silk taffeta designed by Kenneth Pool for Stanley Korshack. The strapless silhouette was fashioned with a fitted bodice and the full double-flounced skirt fell from a dramatically dropped waist.  Bands of silver Swarovski crystals embroidered the empire waist, hip line, skirt and the cathedral length train.  To complete her ensemble, she wore a comb of crystals and a sheer twinkling veil which framed her face and swept beyond her train.   She carried a bouquet of all tones of red roses, red amaryllis, ilex berries and maroon callas.  A lace handkerchief and crystal brooch belonging to her two maternal great- grandmothers were incorporated into the bouquet.           

A reception followed at the Fort Worth Club where guests dined, danced to the music of Bullet Proof Brass Band and rang in the New Year.  On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Los Vaqueros.

 Michelle Angela Bennett of Colleyville served as maid of honor, and matron of honor was Tatianna Cannon Proctor of Norman, Oklahoma.   Bridesmaids were Carrie Elizabeth Chandler, sister of the groom, of Broken Arrow; Kristen Michelle Collins of Talala; Rachel Meredith Head of Bedford, TX; Lauren Ashley Jarrell, Kendall Elizabeth Kirkham, and Katherine McKinney Wilson all of Dallas. TX. They wore full-length Lela Rose dresses of claret crinkle chiffon with hand worked rosettes at the scooped neckline and carried bouquets of red hydrangea, red and pink roses, and red cymbidium orchids.  Members of the house party included Claire Bonney Campbell of Duncan,  Jordan Kaye Geurkink , Sheridan Samples Haynes and Carissa Marquis King all of Norman.  Candle lighters were Sarah Elizabeth Campbell and Caroline Virginia Campbell, cousins of the bride, of Denver, Colorado.

 The groom’s best man was Mark Wesley Oxen of Norman.  Groomsmen were James Patrick Anderson and Chesterfield Dillard Featherston IV both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Logan Robert Beall, brother of the bride, of Colleyville, TX; Daniel Kyle Charboneau and Charles Brandon Maloy both of Ada, Oklahoma; William Blake Petty of Arlington, TX; and Robert Hewitt Wharton of Norman, OK.  Ushers were Tyler Wade Armstrong of Oklahoma City, John Carter Denman of Lufkin, Cameron Joseph Dunn of Paris, Zach Landon Payne of Dallas, and Neil Casey Singmaster of Perry.

The bride is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma where she received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She currently is attending the OU College of Law.  The groom graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of science degree in zoology and biomedical sciences and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.  He is a medical student at OU’s College of Medicine in Oklahoma City.

The couple will honeymoon in Dallas and later this spring in Maui, Hawaii. They will reside in Norman, Oklahoma.

Spain-Howard Engagement Announced

Mr. and Mrs. Bryan L. Spain of Arlington are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura M. Spain, to Bryan A. Howard, son of Mr. Andy H. Howard and Mrs. Catherine A. Walger. 

The bride-elect earned a bachelor of business administration and a master of business administration from Texas Christian University and is a partner in Hygeia Paragon Holdings, Inc. The groom-to-be received a bachelor of environmental design from Texas A & M University and is a project manager for C.B. Richard Ellis. 

The couple plans to marry Jan. 30 at Meadowbrook United Methodist Church in Fort Worth and will honeymoon on a Caribbean cruise.

Elizabeth Pauline Blum became the bride of Dr. Ira Savetsky Nov. 22 in New York City.

Elizabeth Pauline Blum and Ira Lee Savetsky were married Nov. 22, 2009 in New York City’s historic Roosevelt Hotel.

The bride is the daughter of Laurie and Marvin Blum of Fort Worth.  The groom is the son of Aliza and Richard Savetsky of Long Island, New York.

In the ancient Hebrew tradition, the wedding festivities began with separate cocktail buffet receptions honoring the bride and groom.  After the witnessing of the Ketubah marriage contract at the groom’s tish, Ira was escorted with great fanfare to bless and veil Elizabeth at the bride’s badeken.

The wedding ceremony followed, officiated by the bride’s great uncle, Rabbi Leonard Oberstein.  The bride’s gown of tulle with ivory lace overlay, trimmed with Swarovski crystals and pearls, was designed by Pronovias of Barcelona.  The bride accented her gown with an heirloom brooch from her great grandmother and namesake, Pauline Oberstein.  The bridesmaids were gowned in navy satin designed by Vera Wang.

 Maid of onor was the bride’s lifelong best friend, Sari Hochberger.  Bridesmaids included the bride’s cousins, Dr. Lisa Usdan Portnoy and Aimee Adler, and friends Jennifer Freeman, Lauren Friedman, Lauren Last, Drew Schmidt and Ashley Smith.

Along with their parents, the couple were joined under the chupah wedding canopy by the bride’s grandmother, Elsie Blum; the bride’s brother, Adam Blum; the groom’s sister and brother-in-law, Miriam and Avi Kestenbaum; the groom’s brother, Dr. Michael Savetsky; and the groom’s nephews, Eli and Joseph Kestenbaum, who served as ring bearers.

 A seated dinner followed the ceremony, where guests danced to the music of the Neginah orchestra.

 The bride is a 2004 graduate of Fort Worth’s Trinity Valley School and earned her B.A. degree from New York University, summa cum laude, in 2008.  After completing a post-graduate fellowship in Judaic studies at Neve Yerushalayim in Israel, she now is pursuing a master’s degree in multicultural education at the University of Pennsylvania.

 The groom is a third-year medical student at Temple University.  He graduated from CUNY Queens College, magna cum laude, with a B.A. in economics.  His college honors include membership in Phi Beta Kappa.

 After honeymooning in the Caribbean, the couple are residing in Philadelphia.

Vows Exchanged in Napa Valley Setting

A beautiful wine country setting was the destination where Miss Jenna Steormann became the bride of Mr. Jarriet Arnold Aug. 30 at Kunde Family Estate in Kenwood, CA.

She is the daughter of Barbara and Steve Steormann of Keller, and he is the son of Cindi and Kenneth Arnold of Grapevine. 

Andrew Metcalfe of Kenwood Community Church in Kenwood, CA officiated the ceremony as the couple exchanged vows. The all-outdoor wedding included a reception held atop one of the winery’s rolling vineyards, Boothill.

 Escorted by her father, the bride wore an old-Hollywood inspired Reverie by Melissa Sweet gown and a Sara Gabriel Chantilly lace veil for the ceremony and French net veils for the reception.  Sara Gabriel headpieces were also worn by the bridesmaids as well as the mother of the bride, mother of the groom and flower girl. 

Attending the bride were maid of honor Cori Middlebrooks, matron of honor Carrie Maniaci, Kendra Erwin, Erin Arnold, Tia Bowen, Kimberly Murphy, Kristin Thompson and flower girl Kambree Arnold.

Acting as groomsmen were best man Stephen Arnold, Brayden Arnold, Tyson Erwin, Steve Steormann, Bobby Steormann, David Gregory, Tony Orf and ring bearer Jackson Steormann. 

A worship performance was sung by Kari Jobe during the ceremony, and the couple danced their first dance as husband and wife to an original song by Ryan Edgar.

The bride graduated from Carroll High School, Southlake, and The University of Oklahoma, receiving a degree in public relations.  The groom also was a graduate of Carroll High School, and he earned a degree in graphic design from Texas Tech University.  

After a honeymoon at La Amada Resort in Playa Mujeres, Mexico, the couple has started their new life as husband and wife together in Keller.

Kallie Frances Karper and Lt. Justin Louis Pitcock were married July 25, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Graham, TX.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Philip Karper, and the groom is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Louis Pitcock, III, all of Graham.

The bride’s maternal grandparents are Mrs. William Newell Beach and the late William Beach of Midland. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Karper of Graham and the late Frances Ford Karper. The groom’s paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pitcock, Jr. of Graham and his maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Meredith R. Carb, Jr. of Fort Worth.

The Rev. Joseph Sherrard, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Starkville, MS officiated. Traditional Christian selections of music, including “I Love to Tell the Story,” “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” and “Amazing Grace” were provided by pianist Carol Glover and classical guitarist Bruce Canafax before and during the ceremony. Ms Glover accompanied saxophonist Robert Pitcock as he played “The Lord’s Prayer” and for the congregational singing of “How Great Thou Art.” The recessional, “The Marine Hymn,” concluded the ceremony with the traditional arch of swords, meant to ensure the couple’s safe transition into their new life together.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father, wore an original gown of silk shantung with pleated bodice accented at the waist with a jeweled belt of Swarovski crystals and pearls. A floor-length veil of silk illusion completed her bridal ensemble, and she carried a bouquet of white roses, hydrangeas, fursia, willow and greenery.

Miss Rebecca Kate Karper, sister of the bride and a Dallas resident, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Emily Anne Skipper, Shannon Renae Albritton, Kelly Elizabeth Albritton, Caitlin Jazz Hobson, Christen Todd Tipton, Lauren Tucker Trammell, Anna Elizabeth Herzog, Brittany Elizabeth Allen and Meredith Ann Pitcock, sister of groom. Attendants included Hutton Inness Hinson, cousin of the bride; Mary Ashley Anderson; Angela Megan Pace; Meagan Leigh Bishop Gilliam; Morgan Giles Johnson; Michelle Wommack, cousin of the bride; and Lanier Wright Clark. They all wore floor-length dresses of champagne silk shantung with V-necklines, and they carried bouquets of jewel-toned flowers.

Dalton Carb Pitcock was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen included Aaron Kyle Polanco, Dustin Ryan Deen, David Warren Fickle, the bride’s brother William Kent Karper, Payton Michael Lumpkin, Michael Nathan McDowell, Michael James Forster, Thomas Nathan Allen, Austin Michael Hawkins, and Brian Francis Scott. Ushers were Braeden Dwight William Mayes, Tyler Bryce Mayo, Eric Alan Walraven, Daniel Clayton Kilpatrick, Jason Alan May, Harold Michael Schupach, and Steven Louis Ritter.

The flower girls were Anna Grace Doggett, Starkville, and the groom’s cousin Mia Grace Heartfield, of Brock. They were attired in floor-length Victorian ivory dresses, wore wreaths in their hair and carried baskets of rose petals.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents were hosts for a reception and buffet supper at Wildcatter Ranch and Resort where flowers in jewel tones decorated tables throughout the reception area. Tables were covered with champagne cloths, and guests enjoyed dancing at the reception. The bride’s cake was a multi-tiered confection, and the groom’s chocolate cake featured the Marine insignia.

The bride graduated from Graham High School and from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, with a bachelor of science degree in special education. She holds a master of science degree in school psychology from Mississippi State University. The bride was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. The groom is a graduate of Texas A & M University with a bachelor of business administration in finance, and he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He is in the United States Marine Corp, currently stationed at USMC Air Station, Miramar, CA, where he flies the CH-46 Battle Phrog.

Following a honeymoon at the family ranches in Creede, CO and the Big Bend National Park, Texas, Lt. and Mrs. Pitcock are at home in La Jolla, CA.

Shelley and Robert Beall of Colleyville, Texas are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Ann Beall, to Mark William Chandler, son of Jane and Gary Chandler of Broken Arrow.

Allison is the granddaughter of Sue and Fallis Beall and Virginia and John E. (Buddy) and Virginia Campbell, all of Duncan. She is the great-granddaughter of Doris Stokes, also of Duncan. Chandler is the grandson of Betty Sue Chandler, also of Broken Arrow and Marjorie and Ed Olsen of Oklahoma City.

The future bride is a 2004 graduate of Colleyville Heritage High School and graduated from The University of Oklahoma where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is currently attending The University of Oklahoma College of Law. Mark graduated from Tulsa Union High School in 2004 and is a graduate OU where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and biomedical sciences and is attending medical school at the OU Health Sciences Center. Both were members of the President’s Leadership Class at OU.

The couple plan to marry Dec. 31 at First United Methodist Church in Hurst, TX.

Melissa Parks and Justin Butler are planning a December wedding in Fort Worth.

Susan and James Parks of Grapevine announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa, to Justin Butler, son of Jerri Brunner of Fort Worth.

A Dec. 19th wedding is planned at Bass Performance Hall.

Miss Parks graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School and then attended Texas Christian University where she received a bachelor of science degree. She is now pursuing a career in elementary education.

The future bridegroom was a graduate of Grapevine High School. He attends Tarrant County College, working toward a degree in radiology. Currently, he works as a visual manager for Stacy Furniture.

Raeley Rinderknecht and Aaron Guess were united in marriage July 18 in Watson Chapel of University Baptist Church, Fort Worth, with the groom’s father, Bob Guess, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Susan Rinderknecht of Grapevine. She is a graduate of Colleyville Heritage High School and Texas A&M University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. The groom is the son of Bob and Vicki Guess of Fort Worth. He graduated from Pantego Christian Academy and Texas Christian University. Both are fourth-year medical students at North Texas Medical Science center in Fort Worth.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory designer gown from Pronovias.

Maid of Honor was Reagan Rinderknecht, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Courtney Krittenbrink of Oklahoma City, Holly Seacrest of Frisco and Katie Gerstenmaier of Dallas. Flower girl was the best man’s daughter, Bella Lewis of Arlington.

Best men were Todd Jenkins of Keller and Chris Lewis of Arlington. Groomsmen were Dan Sargent of Keller and Peter Sedrak of Houston. The ring bearer was the groom’s nephew, Harrison Fortney.

A reception was held following the ceremony at the Fort Worth Club where guest danced to the music of The Baron. Floral arrangements for both the ceremony and reception were created by Bridal Blooms of Fort Worth.

After a honeymoon to Playa Del Carmen, the couple will make their home in Ft Worth where they will continue their medical studies.

Mr. and Mrs. Timothy G. Taylor of Fort Worth announce the engagement of their daughter, Brooke Lee Taylor, to Neal Howard Balog, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Balog of Carrollton.

The nuptials are set for Nov. 21 at The McDavid Studio at The Bass Performance Hall.

A graduate of Western Hills High School, Miss Taylor attended The University Texas in Arlington where she received a degree in exercise science.

The future bridegroom was a graduate of Newman Smith High School in Carrollton. He attended The University of North Texas in Denton where he earned a degree in strategic management. He received his MBA from Texas A&M Commerce. He is now employed with Travelers Insurance in Dallas.

Beginning Thursday, the Neiman’s flagship store will begin a sale on gowns by such fabulous designers as Oscar de la Renta, Reem Acra, Amsale, Monique Lhuillier and others. Go ahead, indulge your Carrie Bradshaw-wedding-dress fantasies.
