Chefs March to Signature Event

March of Dimes Tarrant County Division (http://www.marchofdimes.com/texas) will host its third annual Signature Chefs Auction at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Fort Worth Hilton.

Party-goers will have the chance to meet area chefs, enjoy their signature dishes and bid on unique chef packages offered only at this event. Individual tickets cost $175 per person. 

Serving as lead chef for this event, as he has since the party’s creation three years ago, will be Tim Love, owner of Fort Worth’s Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Love Shack, White Elephant and Tim Love Catering. Chairing the event will be Lisa Grubbs, holds the cause of March of Dimes near to his heart. “I cannot overstate the importance of the March of Dimes,” said Love.

The 2009 Signature Chefs and the restaurants they represent include:Love; Keith Hicks, Buttons; Jon Bonnell, Bonnell’s Restaurant; Lou Lambert, Lambert’s Fort Worth; Tom Perini, Perini Ranch Steakhouse; Bobby Albanese, Piola Italian Restaurant and Garden; Derrick Paez, Aventino; Catherine Ruehle, Sublime Bakery; Jamie Samford, Winn Meat Company; Donatella Trotti, Nonna Tata; and Michael Thomson, Michaels Restaurant & Ancho Chile Bar.

Chamber Awards College President Highest Honor

Dr. Larry Darlage, president of Tarrant County College Northeast Campus, Saturday received night the the highest honor the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Chamber of Commerce (www.heb.org)  bestows.

The award, named the Clyde Mooney Award and given for “exceptional leadership and service in the community,” was announced at the chamber’s annual awards banquet. This year’s event, themed “Night of a Thousand Stars,” was held at the Hilton Fort Worth.

Also honored was Stan Paschal, HEB Chamber Community Spirit Award; Duane Wieland, Gertrude Tarpley Memorial Spirit Award; Jay Stephens, member of the year; Linda Huggins, ambassador of the year, Micah Lane, director of the year; and Linda Caram, officer of the year. Outstanding business awards went to Minuteman Press, Delgado Orthodontics and Oncor.

David Medina is serving as this year’s chamber chairman, and Jamie Tongate chaired the black-tie optional awards dinner. Garry Hamilton volunteered as the evening’s auctioneer.
