HURST _ Eating and shopping, a favorite hobby of many, will combine for the Taste of Northeast, a fundraiser for the Arts Council Northeast, Nov. 13 at the Hurst Conference Center, 1601 Campus Dr.
The annual charity event is scheduled from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Planned will be food from area restaurants, gift vendors, live entertainment and a silent auction.
Tickets may be ordered online at www.tasteofnortheast.com. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Arts Council Northeast members and Press Pass holders get a $5 discount off advance tickets.

Visitors enjoy restaurant specialties at the 2008 version of Taste of Northeast.
A popular north Texas event will mark its 10th anniversary this year with a 1950s theme.
The 10th annual Taste of Northeast is set for 5:30 to 9 p.m.Â Aug. 20 at NYTEX Sports Centre, 8851 Ice House Drive, North Richland Hills. The event, which features tastings from popular area restaurants,Â serves as a major benefit for ARTSNET.
“It’s going to be a great evening with friends, food, fun and more food,” said Carolyn Sims, chairwoman of this year’s fundraiser.Â ”I look forward to seeing everyone there.”
In addition to sampling restaurant specialties, the event also will include auctions and musical entertainment in a family atmosphere.
Tickets may be purchased in advance on line at www.tasteofnortheast.com or at the ARTSNET office, 2819 R.D. Hurt Parkway, Bedford. Advanced tickets cost $20, and tickets purchased the day of the event are $25.
ARTSNET acts as the arts council for 16Â cities and seven school districts in Northeast Tarrant County, providing culturalÂ opportunities and information.
